Horse Medicine Leadership:

Advanced Facilitator Online Training Program

Are you lacking confidence in your ability to meet a client where they are, beyond just an activity or exercise?

Are you wanting to develop a deeper level of mastery in how you show up as a facilitator and guide for your sessions with your horses?

Are you wanting to build your toolbox of exercises and activities that you feel confident about applying to your practice and also where the horses have consent and are honored in holding them?

If you are seeking to have a program that deepens your mastery as a facilitator in your partnership with horses our advanced facilitator program is for you.

Knowing how to run an activity is not a facilitation skill.

Leading an activity or exercise is not about knowing the script or steps, but rather it is the ability to masterfully meet the client where they are and feel confident about being able to guide a client into a process that is going to be impactful for where they are and what learning they are needing in each moment.

If you are in a place where you are seeking deeper development and mastery in your facilitation and coaching skills in your practice with horses, this is the program for you.

What many trainings give you when you go through their program are activities and exercises that you can set up with the horses.

What they don’t give you is any actual facilitation skills that you have you develop the competency and confidence in your abilities as a facilitator and guide for your clients.

Over the last 9 years, we have been developing and training other equine facilitators in their quest to become equine-guided practitioners. Our process is not just teaching or giving a toolbox of exercises but also developing mastery in a range of facilitation skills.

Our teaching brings in a blend of leadership development, coach training and facilitation skills that we have gone through over the years and refined in our own practice and experience as an equine guided facilitator.

This program is bringing much of what we develop in person in our training into an online forum so we can bring this teaching to those who are seeking it but can’t make it to an in-person retreat.

You do not have to enroll in our full certification program to get access to this training and although we recommend coming to an in-person retreat to deepen the teaching, it is not a prerequisite.

We wanted to create accessibility to those who are wanting to enhance their facilitation skills but could not make it to a retreat.

At the end of this advanced teaching program, you will receive a certificate of completion that you can add to the training you already have.

What do we cover in this program?

There are 4 main pillars that we will be navigating as part of our training. Each pillar will come with a collection of sub modules that include written and audio teaching. Along with the audio and written modules, we will also have bi-weekly teaching calls, plus training videos that will land the training more deeply.

We are also going to be bringing in our resident faculty of psychotherapy to cover some material around the window of tolerance and knowing our scope of practice so we can feel confident about what we are holding for our clients.  If you are already a therapist or a counsellor, you will be able to see how we integrate this into the horses in a responsible way.

Here is an outline of the pillars we will be covering during the program. In each pillar we will be looking through the lens of developing for self, horse and client.

  • Creating Safety and Sacred Space for Horse and Humans.

In our first pillar we will be looking at how we cultivate a safe and sacred space for our clients and our horses. We will be looking at the environmental lens, physical lens, emotional lens, mental lens and spiritual lens and how we hold safety in each.

  • Self Leadership

In our self leadership pillar we will be looking at how we master ourselves as a facilitator and how that impacts the space of our horses and our clients. We cannot master our facilitation skills if we cannot master our own inner landscape firs. Our self leadership pillar will also come with teachings we can apply with our clients and how to integrate this wisdom into our practice with our horses.

  • The Medicine Of Horses

Our third pillar is all about our horses, how to know what their medicine is, how to empower their teaching and how to teach others how to interpret and know the space of their wisdom. This pillar is about honouring and deepening our partnership with our horses.

  • Facilitation and Leadership Skills

Our fourth pillar is about developing the skills necessary to be masterful at our craft. This pillar includes building our toolbox of exercises and activities but is deeper than that. We will be not just learning how to facilitate an activity but how to lead from the place of skill and intuition following the lead of our horses to feel confident in how we are guiding each client that comes to us in our practice..

When we have confidence in our ability to meet our clients in the space of our session, beyond an organized activity, we will feel confident about getting clients as well.

Here are the exercises and activities we will be covering:

Along with the exercises we will also be teaching when to use what activity and how to set an activity up in a way that the horses lead and that feels consent-based to them.

Reflective Activities:

  • Observe the Herd

  • Meet the Herd

  • Group Collective Reflective

  • Energy Approach

Embodied Exercises and Activities:

  • Leadership in Motion

  • Leading

  • Move the Herd

  • Obstacle Course

This program is meant to build a foundation where we are cultivating not just a mastery in how we facilitate, but also how we lead ourselves and build a practice where we can hold deep spaces of trust and transformation for our clients. Most importantly we are honouring our horse partners every step of the way, and bringing them in more deeply as part of our practice and empowering the teachings they bring to our practice and also ourselves.
