The Teachings of Neuroscience and Horses: A training for equine guided practitioners
We all know the power of our work with horses, but sometimes struggle with how to speak to it and explain the impactful science behind the path and experience with our herd and horses that we work with.
What if you could have a comprehensive awareness and understanding of how the neuroscience behind the horse work and be able to speak to it with confidence for those who are curious about what we do with horses?
For those of us who work with horses and partner with them, we see the impact of the space that partnering with horses holds for clients.
We understand the power of the impact of being with horses, the shifts, transformations and changes that take part when we are with them.
We have been facilitating and teaching with horses since 2010 and have often felt the intuitive knowing of how horses impact the space with our clients without being able to offer the evidence and knowledge to speak to it.
Until now…
We are very excited to be offering this program that brings a further understanding of the science of the horse-human connection, and the teachings of how horses impact the brain and nervous system to you.
This new program guides you to understand how to speak to the science of the insights that working with horses brings, to clients and also to us as practitioners, so that we know how being with horses supports nervous system changes in humans.
We created this program alongside Dr. Maia Love who is our faculty expert on neuroscience who brings years of knowledge and experience in this realm to be able to speak to and teach us about the 3 part brain, our gut and heart brain.
What we bring is the language of the neuroscience of the horse-human connection, and we also offer exercises and practices to be able to support this wisdom with our horses and clients who come to us.
We will be weaving and landing the learning of neuroscience to the space of the horses so you understand how to apply this knowledge to what you do with horses and feel confident about being able to language the space of neuroscience and horses with your clients.
We will also be landing the learning of this to our own self-leadership practice as we believe deeply in empowering and supporting that as practitioners, to hold the depth of integrity in our work, we need to have our own self-practice and integrate the teachings for ourselves so we can embody them for our clients.
Being able to understand the science behind the why of horses can lead us to speak a language that resonates deeply with others and becomes attractive to a range of clients.
When we increase our capacity to speak to the neuroscience of the horse-human connection and how this can improve our nervous systems and our lives, we feel more confident in the power of this work and how to speak to it, which means that our ability to share about our work and enroll clients, increases.
This program is a 6-module, 12-session program where we will be covering:
Module 1: What is Neuroscience
How do we understand neuroscience through the Physical, Mental, Emotional and Spiritual Lenses of perception and why they are important.
Module 2: The Brain Stem
How to create safety and understand the power of safety.
Module 3: The Limbic Brain, Heart Field Resonance and Understanding the Language of Emotions
How to identify emotion and its impact on connection and communication.
Module 4: The Pre-Frontal Cortex
How to work with the advanced layers of meaning in the human brain, by clarifying what is authentic versus what is not authentic with the support of horses as facilitators of authenticity.
Module 5: The Gut-Brain and Brain Rhythms
How the Gut-Brain responds to equine-facilitated experiences, and how Brain Rhythm changes during time with horses can deepen insight and inner confidence, power and calm.
Module 6: Integration and Deepening Material (Q&A)
With each module, you will receive a teaching from the neuroscience lens that is facilitated by Dr. Maia Love, and we will then integrate and apply that teaching to both our own self-leadership practices and how to integrate that into a practicum with clients and our horses.
Each module will also come with live teaching plus written content and material that you have lifetime access to.
All of our sessions will be recorded and you will have access to Dr. Maia and myself for the duration of the 13-session program to deepen, integrate and ask questions around the material and its teachings.The good news, you can find a way to do so in a way that feels authentic, aligned and intuitive to you.

HILLARY SCHNEIDER
Hillary is the founder and lead facilitator of the Epona Rise Retreat Center and Horse Medicine Leadership Academy, she has been leading and teaching retreats and trainings with her herd for the last 12 years.
Passionate about bringing the teachings of the horses to impact the lives of humans, she has been devoted to her own vision and purpose of creating a space in nature where people can come and receive the wisdom of horses, the land and their own inner guidance.
She has over the last 12 years had the privilege of hosting and leading retreats for a range of people who are seeking to become more masterful in their experience of being a human with their own passion of personal and professional growth and development.
DR. MAIA LOVE
Maia is an executive and leadership coach and physician specializing in the area of neuroscience and consciousness. She founded and directed BrainTalks at UBC, has led and co-led various retreats, and has spoken internationally at conferences for over twenty years.
Her love of neuroscience includes studies through several university degrees including a degree in biology and physics where she studied electromagnetism in animals and humans, and her advanced neuroscience training through medical studies and research.
She loves holding a clear space for you to experience your own magnificent potential, touch on your authentic truths, learn how to work with your personal neuroscience, and then sense how to live your brand of unique intelligence in the world.
