Learning the Language of Horses
What is it to know and speak the fluency of the language of horses?
When we are walking the path of partnership with horses, it is important for us to know and understand their language, to deeply honor our relationship with them.
When we are in the space of teaching alongside of horses, we need to be able to speak their language to honor their voice and discern their messages for those that come to us.
Learning the language of horses retreat is a retreat that teaches you the language of horses, both as a prey animal and as an intuitive sentient being.
In learning their language, we can then develop our fluency to it, and understand more deeply what they are speaking to us in our own relationship with them and to those that we hold space for if that is part of our path with them.
Here is a truth:
The language of horses is not a language that we are taught in its entirety, or given the vast expanse to what the fullness of their communication to us is.
When we venture to horse stables, or riding lessons, or find ourselves coming into knowing horses, it is few places that go deep with us on understanding horses as prey and that there is an intuitive and energetic language that they hold with us.
To be in a safe relationship with horses and to honor their safety with us, we need to know what it means for them to be a prey animal and to fluently read their body language, not through the filter of humans, but through the pure language of horses as prey.
To be in a connected relationship with horses where we can understand their messages, teaching and medicine, we need to know how to read and receive this language that opens up our own channels of intuition and communication alongside of them.
This retreat builds your foundation or deepens it of both these places that we are seeking to honor our horses more deeply.
For those of us that feel like we know horses, there is something you will be able to take away learning from a dynamic herd of horses that live as closely to how they would in the wild.
The place of teaching with our herd while still domesticated, allows us to be with them at liberty in their community to observe and learn from them that we wouldn’t otherwise be able to witness or observe in a stable or boarding facility.
In the intuitive and energetic lens, you get to immerse yourself with a herd of horses that consciously hold space for those that come to be in their medicine. They are masters in their field, able to give you the experience of learning and honing in your refinement and fluency of their language alongside them.
Who is this retreat for?
The Learning the Language of Horses is our beginning foundation retreat for those that are coming into the path with us.
If this sounds like where you are right now:
You are in a space right now where you know there are gaps in your knowing of horses and you are wanting to refine your knowledge of horses and their language.
You are fairly new to horses and you are wanting to build your understanding and fluency of their language for your own personal relationship for them.
You are wanting to learn how to speak and teach horses to your clients and those that you will be holding space for, and feel more confident in your ability to teach their language and discern their messages for yourself and others.
What we cover in this retreat:
Understanding the language of horses as prey animals: What does it mean to know horses as prey? How knowing horses as prey is part of us building a relationship of safety and honoring for both horse and human.
How to read and interpret horse language and behaviour: Building our understanding of horse body language and what it means, how to know when a horse is being a horse and a horse has a message for us.
Herd Dynamics and Safety: How are we able to witness and know the dynamics of a herd and create safety for both ourselves and the horses in this dynamic.
What horses being horses can teach us and how do we observe these teachings.
Speaking the intuitive and energetic language of horses: How do we cultivate our own intuition and start to communicate more deeply with horses in their intuitive language?
Knowing and meeting our horse partners in their medicine.
Your Teaching Herd:
The uniqueness of our teaching space is the ability to come and learn in the space of the herd, to witness and also experience horses in their natural environment.
Our two herds including our elder herd of 8 and our big herd of 19, live in community, as such you are able to really witness herd dynamics in a way that is not always witnessed.
We come into their space to observe horses in their truest form, and receive a potency of teaching from them.
Your journey with them will also include how we orient ourselves to horses physically, in a way that is safe for both horse and human, gathering a learning of how to be in relationship with horses in every way in which we interact with them.
