Holding Space with Our Herd
Listening To Our Herd
Last week and also this week, I am leading a retreat for a local First Nations community that approached me to do some retreats with them.
The day before my first retreat with them, I went to my herd to get guidance on how to hold this space.
Over the last 10 years, I have found my confidence in holding the space of this work, trusting it and letting it build to a space of knowing this is what I am meant to do and knowing I can.
What I Learned from a Family Retreat with the Horses
It has been years since I have done a family retreat, mostly because the first one I ever did was pretty intense.
The father had severe mental health and I didn’t have a space created for myself in that, because it wasn’t completely disclosed. It was exhausting for me and I didn’t want to enter that space again.
Years later, I have learned how to discern, create space to ask and know that I can be as equally discerning with my clients as they are with me.
The Art of Becoming a Masterful Equine Business Woman
I didn’t know when I first began this journey that a piece of it would be around how I embody the beingness of being a business woman.
Most of the time when I ask my community what they want help and support with the biggest piece is around building confidence in themselves.
And so I wanted to deepen the space of that in this today...
The Wounded Woman and Guiding Our Equine Practice
I shared something in my Facebook group today around the wounded woman that I wanted to land here as well…
Because whether we work with horses or we do something else, the space of tending to our wounds is important. Where I think it is amplified even more is we work with horses and we know that horses ask us to be authentic and that includes our inner work.
So I am sharing this piece today to offer some reflections and prompts around it for you as well.
A Different Way of Learning with Horses
In the last couple of months, I have had to shift how I hold the space of my teachings with my herd.
I am sure some of you can relate, or perhaps, can sense the same happening in your own invitations.
What I have learned years ago as I navigated the transition to the online space and how I bring the space and path of horses into the path was that it is possible.
