Advanced Facilitator Retreat
How do we begin to cultivate our mastery and confidence in how we facilitate and guide others in partnership with horses?
How do we create a practice where our activities and exercises honor the horses and are led by their wisdom? Where we create a safe and sacred space for both horses and humans where we can mutually benefit from the exchange.
It is possible to create a space that we feel deeply aligned to and where we know and feel landed in our capacity and ability to guide and support our clients and the horses we are partnering with.
Our advanced facilitator retreat is about developing and building our muscle of mastery in how we tend the space of our clients, ourselves and our horse partners.
What we will cover in this retreat:
Developing our leadership range as a facilitator
Cultivating depth of facilitation skills such as: reading the space, following and trusting our intuitive urges, self management, creating safe spaces for horse and human, being able to meet our clients and each moment in how they appear in the moment, being able to trust and take the lead from our horses.
Deepening our relationship with our horse partners and empowering them as teachers and co-facilitators.
Building our toolbox of horse led activities and exercises such as; move the herd, observe the herd, meeting your horse partners, leadership in motion, leading exercises, and obstacle course. All in a way that honors the horse.
How to interpret and land, the teachings of horses to our clients and integrate those teachings
As part of this retreat you will get to experience being a client and also step into practice facilitation to build your muscles in a safe learning environment.
What is different about our approach:
Learning how to run an exercise is not developing facilitation skills, and we don’t run exercises in a way that doesn’t honor the horse or the wisdom that horses bring to us.
While we do lead some exercises in an arena or round pen, it is not the foundation of how we build our experiences with our herd.
Our approach is about learning from the horses in their natural environment and in their intelligence, not imposing the human way on a horse.
As a facilitator and also a client, we need to feel confident about navigating the unknown, letting go of an agenda, and being able to meet things as they arise, as this is how real life can often present itself.
If you find yourself here it is because you have a desire to create a practice that is truly in tune with the horse's intelligence and leadership, that empowers them in their teaching and where we are being led by them.
As a facilitator our role is to know what part we play in a session for our clients and our horse partners, and create a space that is powerful in its impact and honoring for everyone involved.
This is what this retreat centers around.
Your Teaching Space:
All of our learnings will be cultivated in an authentic space with our teaching herd, meaning we teach the way we facilitate, this means we are not manipulating the learning space, but rather we are meeting you where you are, learning in live time as if it were a retreat with clients so you can see how to bring this knowledge into the spaces you are holding.
Our intention is to create an environment that you will feel safe to learn in, that empowers your unique way of showing up in this work and gives you a place to play and build new muscles and community as an equine facilitator.
All of our experiences will be led by our herd of 28 wise equine teachers, at liberty and in different ways that this work can show up. We will be teaching through the lens and communicating our time in a way that feels supportive for what your unique practice with horses will look like.
We will encourage each person in this retreat to stretch themselves to know your potential and strength and we will hold that stretch in a way that feels empowering for you.
Our advanced facilitator retreat is a 5 day retreat, in part to give you as much space and time to develop new muscles and cover as many exercises and possibilities as we can.
Walking away from this retreat will give you robust new tools, exercises, experiences and development to help you feel clear and embodied in yourself and how you will hold and cultivate your practice as an equine facilitator.
